About

October 2008 once again brings the focus of photography to Brighton. This year the Brighton Photo Fringe, running parallel to the Brighton Photo Biennial, has grown and multiplied into its third incarnation. Over 75 exhibitions, including works by hundreds of artists, will proliferate across the city and further into Sussex. As well as the city’s museum, independent galleries, artist studios, cafes and shops - a darkroom in a transit van, a Regency period townhouse in the midst of restoration, a tattoo parlor, disused office buildings, churches and arcade windows are amongst the wide variety of venues that are hosting an amazing array of exhibitions and events, workshops, discussions and debates.

Brighton Photo Fringe aims to increase access to and participation in photographic exhibitions and events (whether by local artists, the wider Brighton and Hove population, or communities who would not normally have the opportunity) through supporting and developing a range of Community Arts Projects throughout the festival.

A full colour brochure and venue map that give details of all exhibitions is available from all participating venues and local visitor attractions.
